Resizing a virtual EXA - is it possible?

#1

If you deploy a small EXA virtual and later wants to move to a medium EXA. Is this possible without losing records? What’s the upgrade process?

#2

Yes, they can.

The upgrade process is as follows:

  1. Create an EXA5100v-M VM
  2. Join the EXA5100v-M to the existing EXA-S cluster
  3. The EXA cluster will automatically start replicating the shards from the EXA-S nodes to the EXA-M node.
  4. Once shard replication is done, remove the original EXA-S from the cluster.
NOTE: Removing the EXA-S node from the cluster will remove all of its data.
  5. Remove the EXA-S from your virtual infrastructure.
