The device limit is reached and the device is in limited analysis mode

I’m seeing the following error when attempting to view Devices / L7 protocols. >

“The device limit is reached and the device is in limited analysis mode. L7 protocols metrics might be incomplete or unavailable”

This is for a new installation of EH1000V.

Is this simply because EH is seeing more than 250 devices?

@dkraut The short answer is yes. Each ExtraHop appliance has a safety limit set on the number of devices it can safely process traffic for. When it discovers more than that limit, all devices discovered after that will be placed into “limited analysis” mode where the appliance will only record L2 and L3 metrics. There is also the ability to prioritize some devices using a whitelist.
