Custom devices showing as inactive

I have created several custom devices that are all showing as “inactive” when searching for them. I know they are sending/receiving traffic, and if I manually add them to Advanced Analysis I see traffic stats.

Because of this, dynamic groups that should catch these devices are not populating, etc. Has anyone encountered this? I created a support case about this but it has seemingly disappeared (not in my open or closed cases).
